Big City Life is all about design! Launched 4 years ago we have grown to become a hip, hop and happening online design collective and everything fabulous publication!

Big City Life started its life as a monthly online newsletter 4 years ago. We launched our website last year when our database of subscribers reached a phenomenal 9000 design enthusiasts!

Founder of Big City Life, Ingrid Irsigler, spent most of her childhood at her mother’s side working on interior design projects. Following in her mother’s footsteps, she is an accomplished and award winning designer and has worked in various areas of design, from graphic design and web to interiors and product design.

Working as a Creative Director for an international company for many years enhanced her technical design skills across various design platforms and afforded her the opportunity to travel to various countries in Africa and abroad to train delegates on design elements and web usability.

Her travels to Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Nigeria opened her eyes to the wonderful design talent on our doorstep as well as the amazing style and trends of Europe.

We aspire to bring you interesting articles on decor, travel and lifestyle, as well as the showcasing of South African designers, gorgeous places to stay and of course to keep you up to date on everything thats hip hop and happening in our cities!

Our various site areas include information on style, inspiration, how to's and quick snippets should you just be looking for something interesting to read during your coffee break!
