Soccer Fan Workshops promote laughter, fun and great team spirit

JOHANNESBURG, 11 March 2010: Local events and teambuilding company, Weekends Away, hosted an afternoon's creative workshop for corporate guests and celebrities to become the ultimate soccer fan at the historical venue of Liliesleaf farm, Rivonia.

The ice was broken and bonds were formed upfront as guests took to the dance floor under the instruction of Owen Kroeger, owner of DC Dance Cats, to learn the steps and soccer moves of South Africa's Diski Dance.

The second leg of the workshop was spent capturing everyone's creative spirit as they chose their Makaraba (Soccer Fan Helmet) and donned their favourite paint colours and decorations to create their unique soccer fan identity.

Finally, the afternoon gave way to making a lot of noise as George of Weekends-Away gave instruction how best to blow the vuvuzela, a unique icon to South African soccer fans.

Weekends-Away designed the creative workshop targeted at the corporate market to encourage the spirit of 2010 and create a novel team-building activity.  Weekends-Away is hosting a travelling workshop between now and the beginning of the Soccer World Cup at company premises on Friday afternoons for those companies that partake and support Soccer Fridays.  Limited space is needed, but must include an outdoor area for spray painting.
